Come join us for Highlander's 75th Anniversary Celebration on August 31-September 2, 2007. Celebrate Highlander’s work of yesterday, today and tomorrow. See old friends and meet new ones. Talk about organizing in the South. Sing, dance, laugh, eat, and strategize where we all go from here in the next stage of the fight for democracy and justice.

Saturday and Sunday's activities at Highlander are free and open to the public. Donations accepted. There will be activities for children age 12 and under on Saturday and Sunday. Interpretation and accessibility assistance will be available as well.

2. Educational Institutes
Would you like to learn more about how Highlander works with grassroots activists and organizations? Want to sharpen your skills and learn from people doing similar work in other communities?
If you do, plan to attend one of our 75th Anniversary Educational Institutes on Friday, August 31, the day before the 75th Anniversary Celebration. The institutes are day-long, single-topic trainings on the core methodologies that have been the backbone of Highlander's ability to impact communities for the last 75 years.
Choose from one of five core methodologies and spend an entire day with Highlander staff and other nationally known leaders in their field. Topics include:
- Popular Education
- Participatory Research
- Cultural Organizing
- Multilingual Capacity Building
- Communications for Change
Tuition for the institutes is: $20 for Students/Community; $35 for Individuals; $50 for Grassroots Organizations; and $75 for Organizations/Institutions. Registration includes materials, lunch and round-trip transportation between the Best Western Strawberry Inn & Suites or the La Quinta Inn and Highlander.

3. Benefit Concert
On Saturday, September 1st, Highlander will host a benefit concert at the Bijou Theater in Knoxville. The concert will feature:

5. Support Highlander's 75th Anniversary
Join Highlander's 75th Anniversary Circle of Support by making a donation of $75 or more to support the 75th anniversary activities. You can view a list of suggested giving levels on the Highlander website at www.highlandercenter.org/anniversary/support.asp.
Individual and organizational contribution will be recognized at the 75th Anniversary Celebration and in the anniversary yearbook. People/organizations who give $1,000 or more will receive complimentary tickets to the Educational Institutes. People/organizations who give $7,500 or more will receive free tickets to the Benefit Concert as well.
