The Foundation Center is an excellent source of online Information for foundation grants, fundraising and philanthropy. Through the Foundation’s website, you can find the sites of foundations around the country, often in local public libraries, that can provide information on funding for local organizations.

The FNTG website has links to organizations working on globalization, educational materials about globalization, and funders supporting global justice work. An excellent publication for grantmakers, “Demystifying the Issues: Actors and Funding Opportunities” by Carolyn Deere, can be ordered or downloaded from the site.

This organization develops and strengthens grassroots fundraising skills for social justice organizers. The institute provides training and skill building along with six-month internship placements for people of color as a direct response to racial inequality. The Institute also provides two-day Fundraising Action Trainings around the country.

The Southern Empowerment Project hosts summer trainings on community organizing and grassroots fundraising in Maryville, TN. They also distribute the book “You Can Do It!” by Vicki Quatmann, a book on grassroots fundraising for community groups that came out of years of training groups in developing fundraising programs.
