Training for Youth Activists
on Immigration Reform
Nashville, TN; May 5-7, 2006
On May 5-7, Highlander staff member Paulina Hernández, coordinator of our Young and the Restless program, helped facilitate a regional training session in Nashville on immigration reform issues for youth activists from around the South. Over 150 young people from immigrant and allied communities attended the training session, which was sponsored by the Center for Community Change, the Fair Immigration Reform Movement, the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition, Highlander, The Southern Empowerment Project, and others.
