Highlander Pays Tribute to
Dr. Martin Luther King
January 20, 2008
The Highlander Center pays special tribute to the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the work for racial and economic justice to which he dedicated his life and for which he was killed. This birthday is especially poignant in the year of the 40th anniversary of his death and as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Highlander Center.
In honor of Dr. King and all warriors for civil rights, and for inspiration and information for the long haul of the work for justice today and tomorrow, we offer here the words of Dr. King delivered in his keynote address at the 25th anniversary of Highlander in September 1957 at Monteagle, TN.
