Directions to Highlander

Highlander is 18 miles east of Knoxville off Hwy. 25W-70 on Russell Gap Road. It is not in the town of New Market.
From McGee-Tyson Knoxville Airport (TYS)
- Go north on US 129 N.
- US-129 becomes ALCOA HWY/TN-115 N/TN-73 N.
- Take the I-40 exit toward Ashville/I-275/Lexington.
- Follow directions for "From the West" (below).

From the West (Knoxville, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville, Lexington):
- From Knoxville, take I-40 east (toward Asheville) to exit 398 (Strawberry Plains).
- Turn left (north) at the end of the exit ramp and proceed for 3.1 miles to the stop sign. Be cautious of traffic here.
- Turn right onto Highway 25W-70, and proceed for 9.2 miles to Russell Gap Road. (About halfway, you will pass an Aztex gas station with a hanging sign that says "Crossroads Cafe"; about 2 miles down the road there will be a long white fence on your left-following it, Russell Gap is the 2nd road on the left. You will see a blue sign on the left pointing you to Highlander Center, 1.4 miles.
- Turn left onto Russell Gap Road and proceed for l.4 miles along a road with 3 deep curves. Soon after the last curve, you will see a large wooden sign with the Highlander logo on the right. Turn right here.
- Turn right onto Highlander Way. Take the paved road up the hill. The Administrative Building is on your right. The Workshop Center, where activities are held, and the dorms are further up the hill. A sign will point you there.

From the East (from the I-40/I-81 junction, Virginia, and North Carolina)
- Take I-40 to exit 412: Deep Springs Road.
- At the end of the exit, ramp turn right (going north) onto Deep Springs Road.
- Proceed for one mile to the stop sign and turn left onto Highway 25W/70.
- Continue for 3.1 miles to Russell Gap Road. Just before the turn are two abandoned houses. You will see a blue sign on the right pointing you to Highlander Center, 1.4 miles.
- Turn right on Russell Gap Road and proceed for l.4 miles along a road with 3 deep curves. Soon after the last curve, you will see a large wooden sign with the Highlander logo on the right. Turn right here.
- Turn right onto Highlander Way. Take the paved road up the hill. The Administrative Building is on your right. The Workshop Center, where activities are held, and the dorms are further up the hill. A sign will point you there.

From Morristown/Jefferson City/New Market
- Follow Highway 11E west toward Knoxville.
- Soon after you go through the New Market traffic light, you will see a BP station on your right and a Texaco station a few yards further ahead on the left.
- Just past the Texaco station on the left is a black barn that says "See Rock City." Right before the barn is Reed Bull Road.
- Turn left onto Reed Bull Road.
- Follow Reed Bull Road approximately 2.8 miles to a stop sign.
- Turn right at the stop sign onto Rocky Valley Road.
- Follow Rocky Valley Road approximately 0.7 miles to Doane Road (on your left).
- Turn left onto Doane Road.
- Follow Doane Road approximately 1.6 miles. You will then see Russell Gap Road on your left.
- Turn left onto Russell Gap Road.
- Follow Russel Gap Road over the hill approximately 0.6 miles. You will see a blue pole with the Highlander sign on your left.
- Turn left onto Highlander Way. Take the paved road up the hill. The Administrative Building is on your right. The Workshop Center, where activities are held, and the dorms are further up the hill. A sign will point you there.
